Last Wednesday, in one of our semi-regular informal evening talks, James explained his approach to the archiving of work. He suggested that it’s a very necessary activity, but one that tends to the soporific. If there is just one thing that we’ll retain from an engrossing hour-plus of discussion, it’s his distinction between an archive (a library of projects) and a back-up (a carbon-copy of a hard disc).
