Amidst the quiet concentration of nine people mending things and picking up sewing skills was the intermittent chatter of conversations between attendees and the whirr of a sewing machine at work. Initiated by Elena and Naomi, this is the first meeting of our mending sessions which was held in the kitchen on 19 February. All came along with the intention to make or repair things and socialise. On this occasion, champagne was quaffed to celebrate the birthday of one of those participating. Deemed a success, more such sewcials are in the hemline.
