The building next to us, at 111–113 Bartholomew Road – the business centre, Osbourne House – is being pulled down. After it had failed as an office-rental property, its owners had applied for permission to turn it into residential units. Planning permission was refused, and they then sold it to the student accommodation business, Unite. The new building, designed by the architects Jestico + Whiles, should be completed in 2009. Meanwhile, there is a gap between us and 109 Bartholomew Road (the Dove Centre).
