Alexis is a writer and actor working across stage, screen and audio. Her plays include The Steingolds a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize; Holy sh!t the first play staged at the Kiln Theatre directed by Indhu Rubisangham; The fever syndrome (Manhattan Theatre Club) which premiered at Hampstead Theatre; Lucky seven also for Hampstead Theatre (Pearson playwriting prize) where she was writer-in-residence and both Noise and Marriage at Soho Theatre.

Her play Shout is currently playing across the UK and comes to the National Theatre in summer 2024. Alexis wrote the screenplay for Arthur’s whisky for Sky/Universal starring Diane Keaton and David Harewood. She was recently lead writer for the series Cold tapes for Spotify/Apple and has written extensively for BBC radio. Her plays include Ronnie Gecko (Richard Imison award), Are you sure?, Jump, The singing butler, Deja vu (Prix Europa) and comedy series Mum’s on the run, School runs and The fever syndrome for LA Theater Works.

As an actor Alexis won a British independent film award for best supporting actress for Mike Leigh’s Happy-go-lucky. She most recently appeared in the original London production of Tom Stoppard’s Leopoldstadt and alongside Idris Elba in Hijack for Apple TV.
